This morning, the streets were lined with people as the former Central leader, Xavier Boulder, and his followers were escorted out of town. Boulder shouted threats at the crowd, but they answered by pelting him and his followers with trash.
The march to the edge of town seemed to take forever. I wouldn't have attended but it would have looked poorly on Bear Country if I hadn't been there.
I found the whole thing unnecessary. A quiet escort out of town in the middle of the night would have suited me just fine but the other leaders disagreed. They believed everyone needed to see The Boulder removed from town in disgrace.
When we reached the edge of town, Pete and his deputies released the restraints from the Boulder and his goons. Before they were sent on their way, Hemy asked to speak to her brother alone. She wanted to say something important to him. I don’t know what was said. Their little meeting only lasted a moment and then Xavier Boulder and his followers continued down the road.
I am so glad that is done.
