The world is full of chaos, but sometimes happy events happen.
In Bear Country, a name is more than something written on a birth certificate. It is a promise, a beginning, and a place where a person belongs.
Our babies receive their names after they are two weeks old, giving their families time to know them before presenting them to our big family. Naming ceremonies are one of our cherished traditions.
We also hold naming ceremonies for those who choose to become members of Bear Country. Membership is not taken lightly or entered into on a whim. It is a lifelong commitment to our family, our values and to one another.
Some choose to keep their old names. Others choose a new name marking the life they are leaving behind and the one they begin with us.
Today, we celebrated the newest member of our family. Casey introduced her beautiful baby girl and shared the name that will be carried with pride throughout Bear Country.
Casey named her baby girl Aleece after her mother.
The ceremony was lovely.
The food was excellent.
